Certain branded formulations of semaglutide—such as Wegovy®—are FDA-approved for the treatment of obesity and chronic weight management. Our clinic may also offer compounded semaglutide formulations, prepared by licensed pharmacies, when appropriate and medically indicated.
Compounded medications are not individually reviewed or approved by the FDA, but they are made under the supervision of qualified pharmacists in accordance with state and federal compounding guidelines. Each patient’s treatment plan is developed and monitored by a licensed medical provider to ensure safety, efficacy, and proper dosing.

Semaglutide is a peptide that must be injected once a week. The dose starts low and increases over 16 weeks to reach the maximum dose for weight loss. The food you eat will remain in the stomach a little longer making you feel full sooner and limiting overeating. Insulin secretion will be optimized to carry sugar to the cell and not store fat. Semaglutide also mimics a hormone that targets areas of the brain to reduce appetite.
Candidates for Semaglutide have a BMI over 30, or over 27 with at least one related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes (Type 2). Or patients can have a body fat % of 30+ for females or 25+ for males. Clients who have tried other forms of weight loss or appetite suppressants may be great candidates for Semaglutide.
**We source Semaglutide from a Pharmacy that strictly follows FDA regulations, as well as local and state guidelines and operates under strict QC measures.
In June of 2021, the FDA approved specific branded formulations that contain Semaglutide for the chronic treatment of obesity. Traditionally, formulations such as Wegovy and Ozempic containing Semaglutide have been prescribed to treat Type 2 diabetics.
