Looking for a cool local spot to see some live music? The Social is your place. This venue with a full bar is small enough for an intimate acoustic show with enough room to thrash if you’re into the hardcore scene.

Time to kill before the show?

Spend it hanging out in Downtown Orlando. The Social is located on North Orange Avenue, just a couple blocks west of Lake Eola. Sit on a bench at Lake Eola Park or take a stroll around the lake if you just want to enjoy the evening outdoors.

Want to grab some grub? Your closest options are Gringos Locos, Tin and Taco, Lizzy McCormack’s Irish Pub, Venezuelan Burger, Planet Pizza, and Wall Street Cantina.

A couple blocks down are Kres Chophouse (if you’re in the mood for steak), Schuman’s Jager Haus (if you’re looking for German schnitzels), and Wahlburgers (if you’re a fan of Marky Mark or the Wahlburg family).

If drinks are more your thing, The Woods and Sly Fox are directly across the street from The Social, and offer a great selection of craft beers as well as delicious cocktails.

Casey’s on Central is a sports bar that may appeal to you if you want something more casual, and Avenue Gastrobar, Dapper Duck Bar, or the Downtown Pourhouse are ideal if you want both drinks and a full food menu.

The Venue

The Social has it all. A wide variety of musical acts come to perform: folk, pop, rap, punk, hardcore, and everything in between. There are two full-service bars if you want to enjoy a drink while experiencing top-notch live music.

This is not a place to bring small children, however, as crowds sometimes get rowdy and people are likely to be consuming alcohol. Most shows at The Social are 18+ and some are exclusively 21+, but there is an occasional show open to anyone 12 and over.

The ground-level space is fairly small, so if you want to be close to other fans and soaking in the experience of seeing a live show, hang out downstairs.

If you want to see the sweat on the brow of your favorite lead guitarist, get there a bit early to grab a spot right in front of the stage. And if you’d rather sit at a table, have some personal space while enjoying the concert, or be a little removed from the mosh pit, go upstairs and watch from the balcony.

You’ll still see the band perfectly, and there’s a bar upstairs that will save you from pushing your way through the crowd on the ground floor.

Dance the Night Away

If you’re looking for drinks, dancing, and socializing after the show, check out nearby nightclubs like Tier, The Beacham, The Vintage Lounge, or Ishta.

Between numerous local restaurants and fun nightclubs, your visit to The Social will be not only to see a band perform but to get the whole Downtown Orlando experience.
