Go back to when times were simpler and the pace more relaxed. Spend a day or evening in Kissimmee’s Old Town, minutes from Orlando and the Disney area.
Easily accessible from I4 and Hwy 192, Old Town is a classic Florida town recreated. It’s a walking district spread over 18 acres that includes more than 70 shops, restaurants, bars, rides, and family friendly attractions.
If you’re taking the kids, make time for the Ferris Wheel. This attraction was made in Italy and features 18 gondolas that each seat six. From the top, at 85 feet high, you can see out over the lights of Kissimmee and Orlando. Tickets cost $6 for adults and $3 for kids.
Are there aspiring magicians in your family? Don’t miss the magic shows in The Great Magic Hall at 3 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m. The shows can fill up quickly so consider ordering your tickets online at https://www.theatremagic.com/.
If haunted houses are your thing and you’re jonesing for a good scare, check out the Mortem Manor Haunted Attraction (nightly Wed-Sun). It’s a two-story house with live actors and state-of-the-art animatronics and props. Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased online at the Mortem Manor website: https://www.mortemmanor.com/
Do you have a stomach of steel? Experience the Old Town Slingshot. Slingshot passengers are propelled 300 feet into the air at approximately 99 mph. It’s powered by a spring propulsion device (not rubber ropes or bungee cords as is commonly thought).
