A patient may be considered a suitable candidate for semaglutide under two possible conditions:

Male and female patients with a BMI exceeding 30 may be eligible. Additionally, men and women with a BMI over 27 who also have high cholesterol, hypertension, or diabetes may qualify.
Alternatively, if a female has a body fat percentage of 30% or higher or a male has a body fat percentage of 25% or higher.
