Leu Gardens

Leu Gardens is a 50-acre botanical escape located just minutes from downtown Orlando. It comprises multiple separate gardens linked by shaded, winding pathways, each designed to inspire visitors to appreciate and understand plants.
There is a historical home on site—the 19th century Leu House Museum. Complimentary docent-led tours of this restored house are available, and visitors will be fascinated by the up-close-and-personal look at how life was lived decades ago.
The gardens and home were donated to the city of Orlando by Mr. Harry P. Leu and his wife, Mary Jane, in 1961.
From the main entrance, visitors can drive north to the Welcome Center parking. (The Welcome Center includes restrooms and a gift shop.) Maps and brochures are available for a self-guided tour of the grounds.
Garden paths take visitors to Lake Rowena Overlook and to all of the distinct gardens on the property: Tropical Stream Garden, Idea Garden, Arid Garden, White garden, Vegetable Garden, Butterfly Garden, Herb Garden, Color Garden, and Rose Garden, as well as past concentrations of Camellias, Cycads, Bamboo, and Palms.
Other features at Leu Gardens include the Floral Clock, the Mizell Cemetery, the Horseshoe Fountain, and the Gazebo.
When walking through the gardens, one has a sense of awe at the incredible plant diversity represented, as well as the masterful layout and design of the grounds.
One garden flows into the next seamlessly, and even on a warm Florida summer day, there is plenty of shade and cool air.
Leu Gardens is a popular wedding location. At $250 for a small wedding (25 and fewer guests) and $750 for a standard wedding (26-180 guests), it’s an affordable venue. There are also reception facilities with options for sit-down dinners and dancing.
Leu Gardens can be enjoyed individually or as part of a tour or field trip.
Adult Group Guided Tours are available for $12/person (groups of 10 or more).
The tours are led by docents. Tour choices are 1) Gardens only (1.5 hours) or 2) Gardens and Leu House Museum (2 hours).
School groups and scout groups are warmly welcomed.
Student Guided Tours are led by a docent and cost $4 per student (minimum group size: 10). Groups visit various gardens and learn how plants adapt to their native biomes.
