5 Weight Loss Commandments
Weight loss doesn’t happen overnight. As the saying goes “it took longer than a day to put on weight, and it will take longer than a day to get take it off”. Deciding to live a healthier lifestyle, eating clean foods and exercising are fundamental to experiencing weight loss progress. However, it doesn’t end there. Weight loss is a result of many changes, made and followed through with, every day. Today we are going to share with you, some of the top rules of weight loss.
Rules For Weight Loss
1. Make Protein a Part of Every Meal
Lean protein such as: eggs, lean meat, fish and low-fat dairy should be incorporated into every meal. We say this because protein will give your muscles that boost they need after working out, helps you to shed more fat, and allows you to feel fuller longer meaning you will be fighting cravings less often.
2. Don’t Skip Breakfast
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This is not just a saying your mom used to make you sit down and eat, it’s truthful. Research has shown that those who have lost a significant amount of weight and kept it off, make breakfast a priority. Your breakfast should include protein as well as fiber in order to encourage energy levels and keep you satisfied throughout the day.
3. Eat Your Fruits and Veggies
Research has proven the effectiveness of eating fruits and veggies over and over again. Eating more of these items in place of “filler foods” or sweets will provide you with fiber, vitamins, minerals, among other nutrients vital to our overall health. Studies have also shown that those who incorporate more vegetables into their meals feel fuller for a longer time, in comparison to those who don’t.
4. Don’t Eat More Calories Than You Burn
This has been the go-to rule for weight loss for many, many years. It’s a simple rule of thumb anyone can use to see weight loss. Make sure you are getting active enough every day to burn the number of calories you have eaten. Confused on how this works? We consume calories and then burn them as we exert energy. If you eat more calories that you burn, you gain weight. If you eat less calories than you burn, you lose weight.
5. Always Stay Hydrated
Much of the time when we think we are hungry, we are actually just in need of a drink. Staying hydrated with water throughout the day means less unnecessary eating, lower calorie intake, and more weight loss.
